Robert is survived by his wife of 48 years Terri Long; daughters Shasity Westbrooks (Kevin), Delaine Plumadore (Lee), and Amber Long; grandchildren Axli, Rob, Tori, Thomas, Chase, and Karma; great grandchild Alayna; Brother Ralph Long, Sister Sara Rayburn, Nieces & Nephews.
Robert was a Vietnam War Veteran serving with the US Army and obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device 60, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/Device, and Air Medal. Robert also received the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Marksman Badge w/rifle, and Overseas Bar. After his military commitment, Robert became an Electrician working for his father in law, Herman Steele and spent several years in the Electrical field before retiring. A dedicated family man, Robert provided for and loved his family without measure. Anyone who had the honor of knowing Robert became well aware of his passion for Ford Mustangs. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Glade Road Baptist Church in Acworth, Ga.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Glade Road Baptist Church on Saturday, October 17, 1pm with Pastor Chuck Smith officiating.
