Robert Grant Pannell Jr.

Robert Grant Pannell Jr., age 83, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. He was born in Sylacauga, Alabama on February 13, 1940, to the late Robert Sr. and Dulla Pannell. Bob was a member of Canton First Methodist Church for many years and served the Lord faithfully. He proudly served his country for 23 years in the National Guard. Bob enjoyed playing the dulcimer, building birdhouses and playing golf. He served his church on many mission trips to Mexico and working regularly on a team that built wheelchair ramps for the handicapped community. Bob was an avid fan of the University of Alabama football team and attended many games cheering for his favorite team. Most of all he loved his family and grandchildren and spent as much time with them as he could. Bob was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Bob is survived by his son; Robert Grant Pannell III (Allison), daughter; Jennifer Attaway (Dennis), brother; Wayne Pannell, 5 grandchildren; Collin Walker Pannell, Andrew Alexander Pannell (Laura), William Chandler Pannell, Hannah Kaitlyn Attaway (Kyle Phlegar), and Logan Grant Attaway, and great grandson; Dansby Anderson Phlegar.

Bob is proceeded in death by his wife; Sue Pannell, and brother; Arthur Randall Pannell.

A service for Bob will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Canton First Methodist Church, 930 Lower Scott Mill Rd, Canton, GA US 30115, at 1:30 pm.
