

Robert Howard Reid was born in Syracuse, New York on December 29, 1938 to the late Howard Charles and Eva Irene Bergman Reid. He passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Carolyn ‘Carol’ Edna Myers Reid and his brother, Gordon Reid. Robert served his country in the United States Army, not only did he serve his country but he loved his country fiercely. He received a Bachelor’s degree in HVAC and worked in the HVAC field full time until the day before he passed away. Robert was a member of the local Latter Day Saints Church. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, church family, and anyone he came into contact with. Throughout his life, he loved to bowl, gamble and watch the GA Bulldogs! Go Dawgs!
Survivors include his loving children, Mark and his wife Sheila Reid of Fayetteville, NC, Barry Reid of NY, Bobby and his wife Patty Reid of Adairsville, GA, Sandra and her husband Charles Smith of Dallas, GA, Susan and her husband Vern Millwood of Buchanan, GA; brothers, David and his wife Marie Reid of NY, Terry Reid of NY; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a number of other family members and friends.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Reid will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020 from the Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM with Bishop Wade Douglas and Bishop James Kelly officiating. Interment will follow the service at Kennesaw Memorial Park with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Charles Smith, Mark Reid, Mark Reid Jr., Brandon Reid, Robert D. Reid and Robert Barrett. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 10:00 AM until the service time. The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to everyone who will not be able to attend the service in person due to the states Covid-19 restrictions (no more than 50 people inside the funeral home at one time). If attending the visitation or service, the staff of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home highly recommends that a face mask be worn and that social distancing is practiced to help prevent the spreading of any possible illnesses and to help keep visitors, friends and family members of Mr. Reid safe.
