Roy Douglas Sill

Roy Douglas Sill, 67, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Doug was born December 7,1954 to the late Roy Hood Sill and Mary Jo LaBorde. He attended the University of South Carolina and was a huge Gamecock fan. After college, Doug worked selling residential real estate with his dad and other family in Camden. He moved to Atlanta working as an appraiser and then selling commercial real estate. He started his own business, Sill Commercial Properties, several years ago.

Doug was an avid runner, participating in several marathons. He also enjoyed playing golf and Doug loved the beach; his favorite place was Pawleys Island, SC where he spent a lot of time with family. He was a loving husband, father and friend. Doug will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Doug is survived by his wife, Donna Camacho Murillo Sill; daughters Regan Moore (Landon), Ashley Potteiger, Courtney Murillo; and son J Paul Murillo. Surviving siblings are one brother Mike (Ginny) Sill; sisters Elaine Sill (Everett) Rowles, Jean Sill (Steve) Jones, Jenny Trapp Butler, Dawn Trapp (Jack) Barber and Hope Sill (Aaron) Munn; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Doug is predeceased in death by his mother Mary Jo LaBorde, father Roy Sill and his wife Marie, brother-in-law John Butler, and nephew Roy Henry “Hank” Munn.

A visitation for Doug will be held Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. A funeral service will occur Sunday, July 10, 2022 at 3:00 PM. The graveside will occur after the service on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Mars Hill Cemetery, 2850 Mars Hill Church Rd NW, Acworth, GA 30101.
