Ruby Nell Haff, 89, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away in her home surrounded by her children on April 10, 2018.Ruby Nell was born to William Oscar and Emma Tweet Hines in Paducah, Kentucky, where she was raised. Ruby Nell loved to sing and play the piano, and as a member of East Side Baptist Church in Paducah would often sing for the congregation with her four brothers. In 1957, Ruby Nell received a letter from Air Force 1st Lieutenant David Haff, who was stationed in France, asking to meet her. David had seen a picture of Ruby Nell at a mutual friend’s home and asked to meet her. Ruby Nell agreed and David flew to Paducah, Kentucky from France to meet Ruby Nell. David and Ruby Nell were married a year later.After moving to Georgia in 1965, the Haff family joined Kennesaw First Baptist Church where Ruby Nell sang in the choir before becoming the church pianist, organist and kindergarten teacher. Ruby Nell had a special place in her heart for all of the children she taught and touched many lives. Many of her kindergarten children still tell of the special memories of being in “Miss Ruby’s” kindergarten class.Ruby Nell is survived by her children Don Haff, ( Nancy) Lori Thornton, (David) and Kristie Kelley,(Gary) eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.Funeral service will be held Friday April 13, 2018 at 2pm at Kennesaw First Baptist Church. The family will be receiving friend and family April 12, from 12pm until 2pm and 4pm until 8 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Ruby Nell had a special place in her heart for all of the children she taught and touched many lives.
