After 81 days of living without you, I felt I needed to express how special you were to me. My younger sister Ruth passed away on January 28, 2021 with Frank and I at her bedside. Although we new her death was imminent,  I was not ready for the sadness, loneliness, shock, disbelief and anger I would feel afterwards and still to this day.  I still cannot express or understand the out of order ness it is to lose a sibling, my sibling. I think of the future missed opportunities we will never be able to share together...like graduations, weddings, births etc. As my only sibling, Ruth and I shared common memories, along with childhood experiences and family history. Ruth is the one person where I could truly be myself. Ruth is the only person that has known me the longest. She was my Maid of Honor, my children’s aunt, and she shared my life history. Losing Ruth is like losing a piece of who I am. Ruth can never be replaced, and now that she’s gone, I feel as though a piece of my heart is gone. I don’t feel like me anymore and I don’t know if I ever will. I love you Ruth, the same today as if you were still here with me laughing during the good times- and crying during the bad ones. I miss being able to pick up the phone to talk to you. I will love you always and think of you every single day.

Ruth was an especially kind woman. I grew up two houses away from her and her family, and I’ll never forget how warm her laugh was. I used to babysit for the Caruso’s! In fact, the first time I EVER changed a diaper was one of Cole’s.... I even put it on backwards lol. Ruth was a very good friend to my mother and very kind to me and my family. I wish you love and peace, Frank, Danielle, and Cole. I’m very sorry for your loss ❤️

I went to school with Ruth from Elementary School # 2 thru Oceanside High School. She was always a happy, sweet, kind person. Her smile could light up the room.  May she Rest in Peace. Prayers to her family. ❤️🙏❤️

I had the honor and pleasure to work with Ruth Caruso.  As an educational professional, she had such dedication and amazing passion for working with young children.  She loved teaching, expected the best from all students, and enjoyed working with her colleagues many of whom became her treasured friends. I met Ruth a year ago when I started working at Norton Park. Ruth had style and you could hear her voice coming down the hall. She was always full of energery and truly was an advocate for students with disabilities. Her presence will be missed at Norton Park.

Ruth was my next door neighbor and friend for the past fifteen years.  She was a devoted wife and mother. She was stylish, charismatic, dynamic, and a genuine friend. Ruth had the gift of hospitality. She threw the best themed birthday parties that everyone looked forward to attending.  Ruth loved to dance and have fun with friends.  She gave the best hugs! Ruth was the life of the party at my ornament exchanges. She always brought an ornament for me to hang on my tree.  I will treasure those  ornaments forever.  Ruth was there when we celebrated my boys' graduations. She gave a listening ear and encouraging words when I needed a friend.  Ruth was an amazing teacher and an advocate for children. We loved talking school on the occasions we were together. I will greatly miss our driveway conversations. Frank, you loved Ruth with all of your heart to the very end.  My prayers are with you, Cole, and Danielle.  I love you, Ruth and will see you again. 

Ruth and I worked at MPE. I worked at the front office. Ruth and Cole would come in every morning and stop to say hello. Cole would be so excited to show me his newest toy, gadget, or prize possession. Ruth shared that this interaction every morning made Cole very happy. Ruth and I would always joke about being from "up north". Her smile was contagious and he love for her students was a gift she shared with our community. Stay strong Cole, Danielle & Frank.....Rest in Peace Ruth.

My condolences to the Caruso Family.   I met Ruth four years ago with a humorous story.   We both joined the Norton Park family at the same time.  We actually were at the county office getting our ID badges when the lady called "Caruso".  We both stood up at the same time and looked at each other with the oddest expression and big grins.   Wow, two Caruso(s) in the same room. In my 30 plus years of teaching, I have never had the pleasure of someone sharing the same last name with me.   From then on, it was our little inside joke. So every time we passed in the halls we would say, "Hey my twin"!  We used to always wonder if we were distantly related.   Italians seen to be related to everyone.  You will be missed my sweet "twin" friend.   Rest in Peace

Ruth was a wonderful woman, who cared deeply about the children at Discovery Point. Both our children started there and we felt so welcomed every time we walked in the door.  I’m so sad to hear of her passing and the Romanowski family sends our love to Frank and their children.  

My name is Mindi Weinstein and I had the privilege of working with Ruth at PS 51 in Queens N.Y. I always enjoyed her company because of her positive attitude and bubbly personality. She was an excellent teacher and was always willing to share. I want to extend my sincerest condolences to her family and friends. She will surely be missed by all who knew her.

I met Ruth when we moved into our home on Ridge View Court in 2005.  We all moved in around the same time and our neighbors quickly became like family.  Frank and Ruth had the best Ruth Bday parties, from her surprise Casino Night Party to the Murder Mystery to the one where we all dressed like characters that she chose for us. Memorable, fun times.  She loved to be around people. I can still hear her laughter.   Frank, you treated her like the queen that she was. You, Danielle and Cole are in our thoughts and prayers.  She will be forever missed.  

I was blessed to live beside Ruth and her beautiful family for 12 years until we moved out of state in 2017, and so grateful to have been in her company twice more since the move.  I loved her and we shared a lot, as close friends and neighbors do.  Once, at a party, I noticed she wasn’t drinking and immediately knew she was pregnant (with Cole), though the information was still strictly non public. I looked at her and asked, “what’s in your cup?”. She didn’t miss a beat and said, with a HUGE smile on her face, “what’s in YOUR cup?”  She knew I knew, and it wasn’t said out loud that night, there was no need to. But once the news was officially public, we laughed and laughed over it. It became a thing we’d say to each other over the years in conversation, any time we were “reading between the lines”. I will miss her so very much. My prayers are with Frank, Danielle, Cole, and her mother and sister. I hope she’ll have a chilled glass of Prosecco waiting to welcome me, when we’ll be in the same neighborhood once again. 

My condolences to the Caruso family. I worked with Ruth at Norton Park. We bonded as New York girls. Ruth loved her students, and she was a great teacher. She had beautiful smile, great sense of humor and a wonderful personality. I will miss her. God bless. Praying for peace and comfort for her husband and children who she talked about daily. 

I was lucky enough to have Ruth as a neighbor. I was also lucky enough to have Ruth as a tennis teammate and she  cared for my daughter at her Discovery Pointe Center. Ruth was a fighter on and off the courts. She was a determined business owner and a strong advocate for kids in need. She helped me find my own voice teaching me how to advocate for my daughter in the school system. You will be greatly missed Ruth. Prayers to Frank, Danielle, and Cole.

I met Ruth after my son Jackson was kicked out of another daycare for biting. We were up front with her about his biting and in true Ruth fashion she said, "we got this!" and they did. Jackson and Callie both went to Discovery Point where Ruth loved on them everyday and then would listen my teaching woes (my b#@*ing) when I came to pick them up each day . She always had something to say that would make me laugh and reset my day. Our families became fast friends  always having a blast when we were together, whether it was ordering pizza in, going out, or on vacation!! We will all miss you and your sassy self.

We have so many great memories together but I have to say our cruise together was one of my favorites. So many laughs! So many fun memories! It has been my honour being your friend for the last 13 years! I can hear you saying hey it's "The Menards" with a great big smile on your face.  Love you my friend! Forever im my heart! 

I had the pleasure of living with Ruthie at SUNY Cortland in an off campus house on Monroe Heights.  We had such great times in that house.  I remember us getting ready to go out at nights and dancing and singing around the house.  She was a ray of sunshine and will be terribly missed.  We had lost touch for a while but so happy FB brought us back together.  Sending tons of love and prayers to Frank, Danielle and Cole.  I know she will be greatly missed.  Hoping your strength and love for her will help you get through these hard times.  xoxo

I remember going to Discovery Point as a child. Ruth was always so kind and it was evident that she cared deeply for everyone that went there. I was always so excited to see her. My deepest condolences for her family and loved ones.
