Sandra was born to Randall Edwards and Louise Coffman Edwards on October 14, 1941, in Water Valley, MS. She was saved at the age of 9 1/2 at First Baptist in Florence, AL. As a young teenager, she moved to Georgia where she later graduated with honors and was the Salutatorian from Pepperell High School in 1959. On July 13, 1960, she married a soldier, the love of her life, Al Bridges. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter, raising five children.
After her husband’s military retirement, Sandra worked for Sears for 20 years, and H&R Block for 15 years. In 2005, they moved to Rydal, GA, where they joined Grace Baptist Church. Sandra and Al loved to travel the world in their fifth-wheel camper and go on cruises. She cherished the simple joys in life, sipping her morning coffee on the back porch, watching the hummingbirds, playing Hand and Foot with her sisters, or a lively game of Uno with her great grandson. She found peace and pleasure in quiet moments, especially when working on crossword or jigsaw puzzles, and watching gardening and preaching videos.
She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength and love that will continue to live on through her family and all who knew her.
Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, Albert (Al) Bridges, son, Gregory Wayne Bridges, her parents, Randall Edwards (Maxine), Louise Coffman Caldwell (James), two sisters and one brother.
She is survived by four children, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, and numerous step relatives.
