Sharon Fletcher Kirby died on Sunday February, the 18th 2024, after a long illness with cancer. Sharon was born on January 31st, 1948 in Brevard, North Carolina to Carroll Dewey Fletcher and Sally Robinson Fletcher and grew up there. Sharon met and married her husband Carroll Kirby at Western Carolina University and they spent 54 wonderful years together. Sharon taught chemistry, physical science, and physics at high school and college level. Sharon also had a great love of mystery and adventure. She was an avid reader of Harry Potter, and loved building legos and making jewelry from the series. Sharon had a great love of creation as she made greeting cards, jewelry, and paintings. She also loved watching the Miami Hurricanes football games with her girlfriends. Sharon is survived by her husband Carroll Kirby, son, Steven Kirby, and her son, Daniel Kirby. We will have a memorial service on Saturday, March, the 2nd at 1 PM. At Hollydale United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, Please make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
