Val Marie Brooksher, age 96, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022. She had been a resident of Marietta since 1988. Val was born August 1, 1925, and grew up in Cheyenne, WY.
Val is survived by her sons Danny Brooksher (wife Terri) and Jim Brooksher (wife Alicia), her two grandsons, Matthew (wife Emily), Riley, granddaughter Rachel and her great granddaughter Breelyn. Val was preceded in death by her husband Brigadier General Dan A. Brooksher and her grandson David Brooksher.
As a military wife, Val traveled extensively and enjoyed the military lifestyle. She lived in many different parts of the world, including Europe, the Republic of China and the Middle East. She made numerous friends along the way and had a lifetime of adventure. Val also enjoyed reading, playing bridge, and her beloved dog - Missy.
A celebration of life for Val will be held Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152.
Val will be laid to rest in Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
