With her family by her side Alice Scribilo (nee Rogers), a lifelong resident of Kenora, Ontario, passed away on March 12, 2010 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital at the age of 78.
Alice leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 56 years John, her daughter Debbie Wallin and her son and daughter-in-law Bill and Michelle Scribilo. Grandma will also be lovingly remembered by
grandchildren Danielle and Mitchell Wallin and Samantha and Kelsey Scribilo. Alice will also be remembered by her many nieces and nephews, along with their families and also by her many friends.
Alice was predeceased by her parents Bill and Maude Rogers and her brother Bob Rogers.
Alice grew up in Rideout and attended school at Kenora High School. She worked at the Mando Mill Office and later at the St. Joseph’s Hospital. She and John met in 1953 and were married in1954 and began their labour of love together. With their arrival of their children in 1962 Alice decided the best job in the world was to be a mom, as family was the most important thing in the world to her.
Alice worked hard alongside her husband John her entire life and any spare time she had was spent at their cottage on Trout Lake which became their retirement home.
A Celebration of Alice’s Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre.
