Arthur Penace

Arthur loved the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing, skiing, snowboarding and being adventurous. He was so open-minded and up for anything. Joking around was his way to relate to anyone. He would put a smile on everyone who came to know him.

October 2021 he was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease ALS in Winnipeg HSC.

He leaves behind his partner high school sweetheart Maybelline Loon who he’s been with for 20 years and share three handsome boys: Montel Penace, Connor Loon-Penace and Oaklee Loon-Penace.

He is survived by his parents Yvonne Penace (Jim Mandamin) and Stanley Chartrand, siblings; Ronnie (Angel), Reggie, Robbie (Aaliyah), Jessica, aunts Lorraine, Adele, Rhea and their sons and daughters. He will also be missed by his foster mom Clara Mandamin: sisters Patty (Brad), Stephanie (Jeremy), brother Trevor aka Coot (Shannon), Bethanie and Tashina and cousins Courtney Penace (Terry), Kendrick, Tara, Nolan (Mandy) and aunt Christine (Oliver).

He will also be missed by the Loon family mother-in-law (Charlotte Loon), her siblings Ashley (Josh), Chasity, Tasha (Brian), Cheyenne, Jedidiah, Tammy (Travis), Roxanne N., niece and nephews for being her support, Harmony (Edward), Dreyden (Peneielle), Rylan, Rowan, Chante, Hazel, Tristan, Octavia, Alison, Deacon, Hazel, Sage, Amaru, August, Steven, Seth, Aurura and Zaylean, as well as many other relatives too numerous to mention.

He will be reunited with his grandpa’s Kenneth Penace and Art Chartrand, Stephen Sr. Mandamin (foster dad), Eugene Greene and Esther Penace.

Wake service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Shoal Lake 39 Community Centre beginning at 3:00pm. Traditional Funeral Ceremony will be led by Elder Howard Copenace on Monday, August 25, 2025 beginning at 10:30 am with interment to follow at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery.
