It is great sadness to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Bernice Paypompee on June 28, 2017 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
Bernice was born June 17, 1958 in Kenora Ontario to Samuel Sr and Bertha Paypompee, she is survived by her common-law husband Donald Paul and her siblings Frieda Linklater, Dorothy Paypompee, Leroy Paypompee (Shelly) and Joann Guendouze, Sheila Jack. Her Children William Paypompee Jr, Tina Paypompee, Jonathon Paypompee, Samantha Paypompee and Stanford Paypompee. Numerous nieces and nephews, and great- nieces and nephews. Galley also leaves behind her beautiful grandchildren, Alayla, Ariana, Starlette, Haven, Eternity, Rosemary, Evangaline, Alaya, Lovine, Liam, Leah, Logan, Laiton, Lyles and Lucas.
Reunited with Bernice are her beloved siblings Stanley Paypompee, Charlie Paypompee, William Paypompee Sr, Jane Jack (nee) Paypompee, Judith Paypompee and Sophie Paypompee.
Galley loved being with her grandchildren and spending time with her family, she enjoyed helping out with our community and also volunteering with the elders. She always had a helping hand. Galley had many interests and hobbies, she loved sewing and beading. She also recently reunited with her niece Olivia Schmidt Kinsey and Nephew Kevin Schmidt.
The family would like to say Chi Miigwetch to Dr. Pederson and Dr. Kyle, Lake of the Woods District Hospital, Naotkamegwanning Band and Health Services also Naotkamegwanning Paramedics and the community of Naotkamegwanning.
Traditional Services will be at the N.W.A 33 Community Hall on Saturday, July 1 2017 followed by traditional funeral services on Sunday July 2, 2017 at 10am officiated by Elder Maryjane Scott of Wabaseemoong First Nation.
