Carol Rosemary Townsend

Carol Rosemary Townsend was born February 10, 1948 in Bancroft, Ontario, and passed away with family by her side at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital on November 19, 2013.

Carol grew up in Highland Grove, Ontario with her late parents Elwood and Alice Peel. She was the youngest of five children; predeceased by her sister Marie, her brothers Floyd and Fred and survived by her brother Robert. Carol devoted her life to her survived husband Philip Charles Townsend, children Wanda Carol Huber (Ron) and Gary Philip Townsend, grandchildren Kendall Gray, Alexzander Townsend, Brayden Huber , Brandon Townsend, Kody Huber and Darrian Townsend. Survived by treasured grandchildren Courtney Hlady and Brinna Core, cousins, nieces, nephews, countless friends and other family who blessed to know her and be a part of her life.

Carol worked at the Manitoba Developmental Centre in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba for 25 years as a head cook. Carol enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking for friends and family at all times of the year. Her specialty was homemade bread and cinnamon buns. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, especially the ones her niece Rhonda clipped out from the Free Press. She enjoyed her visits and long talks from her long time friend Joy Rebel Saunders.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 07, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Water of Life church with Pastor Dave McDonald officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Water of Life Church and/or the Humane Society.
