October 1st, 1957 – January 22, 2026
Debora Ann Silk, 68 Passed away peacefully January 22nd 2026.
Deb leaves behind her son Andrew Silk (Janice), sisters Brenda Silk (Gilles Guenette), and Margaret Silk (Paul Warmbier) and niece Cora-Rae Silk.
Deb was the eldest daughter of William and Nora Silk, and predeceased by her daughter Crystal Abraham.
Debora was always a person that was willing to help others. She demonstrated this by refusing to let others be allowed to babysit her younger sisters. When she was not babysitting her sisters, she would run away but could be found visiting or helping her grandparents in Traverse Bay, Manitoba. She later entered the nursing field by graduating from the nurses aid course at Confederation College. She did this as a single parent to two young children in Thunder Bay. After a year battling cancer, the Lord has concluded her work here was complete and He has called for her return. Many friends and family will miss her in the years to come.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 429 2nd Street South, Kenora, Ontario on February 28th, 2026 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Cathy Giroux officiating with a luncheon to follow.
The family would like to thank the staff of La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances. The family is grateful for the care and compassion Debora received during and after cancer treatments.
