Born July, 13, 1938 in Kenora, ON passed away peacefully August 12, 2016 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital. Dennis leaves his loving wife of 54 years, Diane (Foster), daughters, Cathy and her husband Dean Kropp, Angela and her husband Steve Ferguson.
The lights of his life for the last 21 years, Grandchildren, Mitchell and Ally Kropp and Craig and Amy Ferguson. Also their adopted sons Bob Scheinder, Fred Pauletig, Mark Clark and their families.
Along with his sisters-in-law, Doreen Belair, Cathy Foster, Shirley Foster, Ruby Frey and their families. Dennis was predeceased by his parents Norah and Emilien, his brothers John and Joe, his in-laws Angela and Harry Foster, Sr., brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Dennis was employed for 40 years with the local Paper Mill doing a variety of jobs within the mill. Dennis was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #12 Kenora for over 50 years. He had many passions, guiding, hunting and running his sled dog team. He spent countless hours on the lake with family and friends. For the lucky people who had the good fortune to spend time fishing and enjoying the area they will miss his ability to make these experiences unforgettable.
Dad was even more passionate about spending time with Diane, his girls and their families. He always made time to teach and enjoy his grandchildren.
Anyone that truly knew. Dad loved his wild off beat sense of humour which often got him in trouble.
A special thank you to all who provided such wonderful care during his numerous hospital stays. Getting to the hospital without the help of our EMTs and Firemen would have a been a great challenge for the family. Without the support and care from Dr. Brad Kyle and his office staff, things would have been even more difficult for Dennis and his family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 20th, 2016 at 11:00 am at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Rotary Splash Park (kenorarotary.ca) or a charity of your choice.
