

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear beloved Father, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle, Cousin and Friend Donald Edward Ross affectionately known as “Cowboy” on February 10, 2017 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital. Don was born on March 27, 1955.
Don leaves his partner Vanessa and step-children Alee and Darnel, his son, Jason (Crystal), granddaughter Abby of Winnipeg, Manitoba and his daughter Crystal, grandchildren Cole and Alec of Chandler, Arizona. Don also leaves one brother Conrad Ross, Sisters Corrine Land, Elaine Ross and Marion Morton. He also leaves his nephews Curtis, Adam, Hugh and Adrian, Nieces Vanessa, Anita, Leslie, Mindy, Tajia, Marley and Ava whom he adored and cherished.
Don was predeceased by his grandparents Joseph and Harriet Ross, Mother Marie Ross and Father Edward Mandamin, brothers Harold and G.W. David Ross and special great-niece Delaine Copenace. He also leaves many cousins and relatives too many to mention.
Don lived most of his life in Warroad, Minnesota and worked at Christian Brothers Hockey Sticks for many years before moving back to Ontario. Don was well-known for his kindness and cheerful smile. He loved his family and friends and will be missed by many.
Pallbearers are Curtis Powassin, Kurt Powassin, Hugh Ross, Adrian Land, Adam Land Cameron and William Ross.
Honorary Pallbearers are Tajia Ross, Brian Kelly, Ken Sandy, Donny Albany and Kendall Paul
Traditional Services performed by Peter White. Wake services beginning at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Knox United Church Gymnasium in Kenora, Ontario. Traditional Services will begin at 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Knox United Church Gymnasium.
