Doris Iola Carlson (nee Sundmark)

August 30, 1925 - October 31, 2011

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Iola Carlson (nee Sundmark).

She was born August 30, 1925 and she was one of six children.

Doris went on to marry Edwin Walter Carlson in 1948. She spent her life with those she loved and lived life to the fullest. Doris enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, camping, baking and cooking.

She always enjoyed music whether it be playing the guitar or listening to Toad play the accordion. Doris was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by many.

Doris will be lovingly remembered by her husband Edwin (Toad) Carlson, son Wayne (Gwen), daughter Starla (George), grandkids Kimberly (Darren), Jennifer, Behn (Angela), Chris (Laura), Ashley, Andrew (Christina), great grandchildren Nate, Brayden, Ethan and Jaxon.

The family would like to thank Birchwood Terrace Nursing Home, Pinecrest Nursing Home, the nurses on the 3rd Floor, and Dr. Retson of Lake of the Woods District Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Doris.

A private family service to be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011.
