Mom was born to Esther and Victor Lundin in Kenora on December 6, 1921. She grew up in a large, loving Swedish family and passed on that love of family to her daughters. Church was an integral part of Mom’s life. Her quiet faith sustained her. Her generosity, kindness and ready smile were a reflection of who she was. Through various stages in her life she enjoyed traveling through Europe and North America but most of Mom’s life was spent in Kenora, particularly enjoying camp at Big Stone Bay on Lake of the Woods.
Mom was employed for most of her working career at the local pulp and paper mill and retired in 1978. She enjoyed her affiliation with Vasa Lodge and the Lake of the Woods Quilters. Mom had a life long commitment to her church, both through the Bethesda Lutheran Church Woman’s League and the choir.
A Celebration of Mom’s life will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, October 3rd at 11:00 am with Pastor Cathy Giroux officiating.
“Grief never ends … but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith … It is the price of love.”
