Dad was well known on the powwow trail, he was an avid traditional dancer, powwow singer and would travel many miles around powwow country. He loved to fish, hunt and play hockey, that’s how he earned the name “Tony Lemieux” as his friends would call him. He spent many years on the highway as a medical transportation driver, making sure the patients got to their appointments no matter what the weather was like. He went above and beyond to help everyone disregarding his own needs.
You could always find Papa Tony at Christmas concerts, gatherings, hockey games, tournaments, etc; as he was his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s biggest fan. You could see it in his smile and the light in his eyes as he watched each and every one of them do what they loved.
As Omry would say “Papa Tony we got a looney” and Papa would respond “ you crazy bugger.”
