Unexpectedly, with his loving wife by his side, Gerald Jacobs, a new resident of Nestor Falls, ON, previous resident of Allan, SK, passed away on April 10th, 2016, at the age of 62 years.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rita, Renee (daughter), Rocky (son) and Meghan, Mildred (sister) and Mark Walters, Marie (sister) and Clayton Smith, Cecil (brother) and Mildred Jacobs, Bill (brother) and Roseline Jacobs, Cavelle (sister in law), Teagan and Ryder (grandchildren) and nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Preceded in death by parents – Tom and Blanche Jacobs, Lawrence (brother).
Gerald was born in Little Hearts Ease, NL and after graduating post secondary, worked in Labrador City, NL as a millwright. Further on, Rita and Gerald moved to Tumbler Ridge, BC in 1984, to continue his career. Eventually settling in Allan, SK, this is where he continued the growth within his trade. Life in Saskatchewan extended to their spending many “well earned” day’s off at the vacation property owned in Elbow, SK. Being out on his boat fishing or taking time to spend with his family and friends, are some of the things he loved most.
Gerald loved being with his family and friends and we will all remember the guitar singing, cookouts and laughter he brought to all of our lives. His dream was to live on the lake with his boat, wife and family, a dream that was achieved, albeit for far too short of a time.
A time of family gathering will be in lieu of a funeral or memorial service, exactly how Gerald wished it to be. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
