Hilda Michaud

October 8, 1953 – July 10, 2015

Hilda Michaud, age 61 years, passed away at Lake of the Woods District Hospital on Friday, July 10, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer for 3 years.

Hilda was predeceased by her parents Melvina and Norbert Michaud; one daughter and one son; siblings Janet Scott, Josephine Kejick, Louise Smith, David Michaud, Nancy Muckle, Shirley Michaud, Donna Michaud, Charlie and Johnny Michaud; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is survived by her son Eldon Michaud; 6 grandchildren; siblings Percy Michaud, John Paul Michaud (Eliza Scott), Pauline Brown (Chuck MacDonald); nieces and nephews Perry (Barbara), Diane (Jimmy), George Michaud, Harvey Paul Kejick, Isable Kejick, Julia, Noella, Shirley Scott (Larry Kabestra), Frank Michaud, Denise (Larry) Moose, Garnet Michaud, Robert Cameron (Tamara Muckle), Preston, Percy, Deborah and Diana Rae McLeod, Harvey Smith (Doris Prouty), Douglas Smith, Melvin (Lorraine) Muckle, Stella Lewis, Edward Muckle, Davey Michaud, Gilbert Muckle, Emily (Greg) George, Victor, Dwayne and Jamie Brown, Isaac Fisher (Martella), Thomas Perry Kejick (Autumn Bunting), Montanna Hernberg. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews and relatives too numerous to mention.

She enjoyed caring for many children throughout the community. She always assisted others by cleaning houses. As a young child she enjoyed music and singing. She would often help others repair or fix broken items. She enjoyed harvesting wild rice, picking blueberries and playing cards.

Traditional Wake service will begin on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 3:00pm at the Whitedog Community Hall. Traditional Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Whitedog Community Hall beginning at 12:00pm with interment to follow at Whitedog Cemetery.
