JoAnne touched the lives of many people in her 59 yrs and her 'KACL' family and friends put their memories into a song written in her honour by Laura Cotton.
Song for Jo
"Oh Me!"
Oh my,
How to explain
The gifts you gave
The lessons gained
From being lucky to share time
It seems to come out in a rhyme
There's laughter, joy and sparkling eyes
There's mischief, Mother's LOVE and
Miles and Miles and Miles of distance came
That was so hard
We say your name:
"JoAnne!"
Just want to hold your hand!
Your song is ringing loud and strong
We honour you
We sing along
We hold Your story in our hearts
For you remind us healing arts.
And Hillbillies and coffee rule!
And little moments are the tools
That make our lives more special shared
We feel we matter because You cared
For us as much as we for You
A hundred post its say its true
You made us glad You shared your laughs
Your mischief gave pegs coffee baths
And ever so much more besides
That got us good- caught by surprise
And how you'd cackle in delight!
Oh MoJo shining in the night
We see you, hear you, feel your light,
Give thanks to you
We're glad you came
"You are my sunshine"
Here comes the rain
We cursed the distance
Our hearts throbbed
Together we heaved a collective sob.
Your light still shines
Your smile still gleams
Your laughter echoes in our dreams
You lit up lives
Our hearts they ache
A strong bond short bread couldn't break
We miss you JoJo- no mistake
Bonds even short bread couldn't break.
