May 13, 1957 - January 5, 2026
Joseph “Joe” Corriveau of Kenora, Ontario passed away on January 5, 2026. He is survived by his son, Patrick, and his dog, Smokey.
Music ran through Joe’s veins and was a defining part of his life. Joe was known for his vocals and his bass guitar. He jammed with many and created music with plenty musicians. One of his most notable contributions to the music world was as a member of the band Myrage. Joe was the last surviving member, predeceased by his bandmates Eddie Martin, Raymond Kakepetum, and Les Martin. In 2005, Myrage reached number one on NCI for four consecutive weeks with their song “Walk a Fine Line.” In 2006, the band was nominated for Best Rock Album at the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards, marking a significant achievement in their musical journey.
Joe was well known around the Kenora area and had many friends. He was a solid, dependable guy—a straight shooter who said what he meant and meant what he said. He showed his affection through witty banter and good-natured teasing, a style that those close to him came to know and love.
Joe will be deeply missed by his son, his family, the tenants at his building whom he spent many laughs with and grew close to, and the many friends whose lives he touched through music, friendship, and laughter.
