JOSEPHINE LAMBERTA FRIELING

With great sadness we announce the passing of our Mother,

Grandmother and Oma, Josephine Frieling on Saturday November 14, 201

5 with her family by her side at Pinecrest Home for the Aged.

She was born in the Netherlands on March 5th, 1922, immigrated to Canada as newlywed

with her husband Henry in May of 1953. Josephine was predeceased by her husband Henry in 1982.

She is survived by her children, Anchilla McDonald (Larry), Mary Hall (Arnold), Reynold Frieling (Robin),

and Jolanda Winlove-Smith (Peter). Also survived by her grandchildren Ashley Hoffmeister (Matt), Aimee Foucher

(Peter), Amanda McCool (Gord), Jason Frieling, Michelle Mayne (Ben), Mandi Fawcett (Mike),

Shannon Price (Corey), and her dearly loved great grandchildren Decklan and Annika Hoffmeister,

Pierce and Averi Foucher, Carter McCool, Adrian and Christian Mayne, Kaitlyn and Abigail Fawcett, and

Spencer Price. She is also survived by her siblings in the Netherlands, Sister Ank Bruggink and Brother

Johan Wolbert and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was an avid knitter and seamstress, making all our clothes as we grew up

Josephine always had the cookie jar full. She immensely enjoyed all family gatherings and holidays.

She loved her many trips back to the Netherlands to be with her family.

Josephine was a member of Notre Dame Church and was a member of the Catholic Women’s League for many years.

Our sincerest thanks go out to Dr. Beveridge for all of his care over the years,

and also to Dr. Thomas for her care during the duration of Mom’s stay at Pinecrest.

We’d also like to thank the staff at Pinecrest for their amazing care, not only of our mother, but of our family during this very difficult time.

A Memorial Mass will be held on December 5th, 2015 at Notre Dame Parish at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Pinecrest Home for the Aged would be appreciated.
