Julie (Ralko) Lange, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Birchwood Terrace in Kenora, Ontario.
She will meet her mother (Theodosia) and father (John Ralko) in Heaven, along with her husband, Gerhart Lange, her brothers and sisters: Marion, Nick, Steve, Bernie, Stan, Edward (Ted), Michael, Anne and Virginia.
Julie married Gerhart on December 23, 1978 and enjoyed almost 11 years of marital bliss until a stroke while working as a logger in the bush took him from her.
She is survived by her only son, Joe Ralko of Regina, his wife Carla, and their six children: Ahren, Brandon, Jenna, Jared, and twins Adam and Corbin.
Julie’s six grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life will act a spallbearers. She fussed over them and did whatever she could to make them happy during their annual summer vacations to Kenora and her regular Christmas and Easter visits to Regina.
Julie lived her entire life in Kenora where she was born on August 24, 1930. She attended Mount Carmel School and graduated in the top quartile of her class at Kenora High School.
She enjoyed working with the public in a variety of positions in the hospitality industry where she earned a reputation for her witty sense of humour bantering with customers and dressing up to celebrate special occasions such as Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and Easter.
Julie was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch #12, for 37 years. For her tireless efforts as a long-time membership chairwoman and catering coordinator she earned a Life Time Membership.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and visiting with friends over coffee in the Kenora Shoppers Mall.
Visitataion will be at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 7:00 pm. to 9:00 p.m.
Mass will be at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery.
