December 27, 1948 – April 11, 2026
The family wishes to announce the sudden passing of Louise ‘Weezy’ at home with her husband John, daughter Cheryl, Barry and her dog Spencer by her side.
She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Beatrice Zulesky, sister Karen, brothers Wallace, Derek and Perry, mother and father-in-law Ivy and John Zilinski and her brothers-in-law Lorne Roulston and Terrance Zilinski.
She leaves to mourn her husband of 57 years John ‘Love bug’, daughters Cheryl (Barry), Gail, son in law Kevin Stefanik, grandson Brandon (Harmony) and the joy of her life great grandson Linkin, she will also be missed by her companion pooch ‘Spencer’. She also leaves sisters-in-law Annette, Cathy (Mike), Diane, brothers-in-law Jim (Val), Tom (Brenda), David (Beth) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Louise worked at many many restaurants in Kenora throughout her waitressing career, including R&T Convoy, Ted’s Cafe, Chicken Chef, Dinos, Smitty’s Pancake House, Keywest, Kenwood, Anchor Inn and the Inn of the Woods. After she retired, she began to venture out to many bingo halls, garage sales and more lately enjoying brunch every day at Vets, Lake Vu or Travelodge. She would often have a story to tell and came home knowing something about someone she saw that day. Evenings in the summer, she loved to go watch her grandson Brandon play baseball, never missing the opportunity to chirp the other team.
She was a member of Kenora Ceramics, Canadian Daughter Assembly and bowled in Ladies and Mixed League and loved to garden, go fishing and camping out on Beauty Bay and Trout Lake. She collected coins, all the Avon items she could get and was one of Elvis’ biggest fans.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Louise to “It’s A Dogs Life” would be appreciated by the family.
The family would like to thank the Paramedics, Fire Department, OPP, Dr. Sam and Emergency Staff at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital for their care shown to our mom and a huge thank you Cory and staff of Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre for their care and compassion at this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will for Weezy be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 12:00pm-3:00 pm at the Kenora Legion Branch 12 with a light lunch to be served with a private interment at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery.
