THERRIEN, Normand Edmund
On the 24th of July 2015 after a brief battle with cancer, with his family holding his hand, Norm’s children gently passed him back into the hands of God.
Norm was predeceased by his wife Marie-Ange, his two infant children Paulette and Marc, his parents Paul & Jean Therrien, brothers Alan and Donald, sisters Eleanor, Marlene and Laura, and his “more brother than brother in law” Bill Watson.
Left to celebrate his life and cherish is memory are his children; son David, daughters Gisele (Paul), Sheila (Jurgen), grandchildren Anika and Eliza, Cassandra and Kristi, Taija and Dylan and great grandson Meryk, brothers Melvin (Betty), Gordon (Mary), Paul (Cathy) as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many, many, many, many friends.
Norm was born June 14th 1933 in Thibauville, MB. He worked in the produce department at Safeway in Kenora for 47 years. He had customer service down to a fine art. His true passion was building furniture and friendships in his workshop.
Norm enjoyed many outdoor activities; archery, hunting, scuba diving, snorkeling, story-telling by the fire and his favorites: fishing with friends and motorcycle rides with Marie-Ange.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Norm’s life will take place at Brown
Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on August 4th 2015 at 1:00 pm. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and members of the Health Care team who looked after Norm with the utmost professionalism, caring and compassion.
Even Though You Could Not Stay
I’m sad that you will be leaving me,
Going so far away:
Yet one bright spot is the simple fact
Your memory here will stay…
The memories will remain with me
To brighten up my day.
Remember you’re always here with me
Even though you could not stay.
