Mom was raised in Fort Frances, where she met and married her first husband Jerry. She moved with dad to Kenora where they raised their family until the marriage ended. Mom later married Floyd McKay and enjoyed many years together; much of their time outside fishing, gardening, and camping. Over the years she had a number of pets, including numerous horses. She enjoyed many years of driving school bus, delivering mail to the rural areas, and working at a local camera shop. After the passing of Floyd she moved to Manitoba where she met Jake.
Mom was predeceased by her parents John and Mable Lengyel, her husband Floyd McKay, her younger brothers Keith and Michael, as well as her sister-in-law Katie and brother-in-law David.
Mom will be mourned by her son Mark (Brenda) Ossachuk and by her daughter Juanita (Gerry) Gielen; her grandchildren Miranda, Kayla, and Jerry along with their spouses and her 6 great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her younger siblings Wayne, Sheila, Gail (Joe), Nancy (Alex), Paula, Shelley (Ron), Charlotte (Jim), Daryl and Tim; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be missed by her partner Jake, who she spent many years with at his farm, until her going into a care home.
We appreciate the tremendous care provided to her by: the Grunthal Assisted Living facility; hospitals in Steinbach and St-Pierre-Jolys; Niverville Assisted Living; and finally Heritage Life Personal Care Home in Niverville. As well we wish to thank all doctors, nurses, and dedicated care personnel.
Mom will be inurned at the columbarium in Kenora at a later date.
