We are sad to announce the passing of Willard Canfield on July 19th, 2024.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather (Papa), great grandpa and great great grandpa, who resided at Pinecrest Home for the Aged.
Willard is predeceased by his loving wife Shirley, his parents - Lockwood and Elsie Canfield, his four older brothers, their wives, his two stepsisters Ruth Ronnebeck and Eileen Major and son-in-law Eric Kero.
He is survived by his three loving daughters - Debbie Kero, Cheryl Lomax (Andrew) and Sandra Lanteigne (Robert), Grandchildren - Erika, Jessica, Gary, Marci, Shandis and Chelsea, Great Grandchildren - Danika, Zander, Sophia, Lily, Phayth, Petra, Lucas, Angela, Dylan, Madalyn, Milah, Ellie, Holly and Quinley and Great Great Grandchildren Mylo and Sylas as well as many nieces and nephews.
Willard was born and raised in Kenora, he later moved to Southern Ontario with Shirley where they raised their 3 daughters. They later returned to Kenora where he became a much-loved crossing guard for the Kenora School Board before retiring. Willard and Shirley spent a lot their time on Black Sturgeon Lake with their family. He thoroughly enjoyed playing card games and Yahtzee with his daughters and grandchildren. In his early years Willard enjoyed many family road trips with his wife and daughters, playing golf, blueberry picking and also loved to take long walks. Willard and Shirley loved the many happy hours and get togethers out at camp with friends and family.
Willard was cremated through Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre and will be celebrated at a later date by his immediate family.
