Fernando M. Alva Jr., a cherished resident of Kerman, California, passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on November 6, 1961, in Milpitas, California, Fernando lived a life full of passion and dedication.
Fernando will be remembered for his love of fishing, attending heavy metal concerts, and his enthusiasm for football, especially as a devoted fan of the 49ers. He enjoyed taking road trips and working on cars, but above all, he treasured spending time with his family.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Fran Melton Alva, and his children, Fernando Alva, Ricardo Alva, Natasha Avila, and Andera Alva. Fernando also leaves behind his grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy and memory.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 5, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Palm Memorial - Kerman Chapel, located at 538 South Madera Avenue, Kerman, CA 93630. Following the service, a Burial will take place from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 S Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
Pallbearers honoring Fernando's memory include Arthur Valdivia, Eric Valdivia, Fernando Alva III, Emilo Sanchez, Jeremiah Ortiz, Briana Sanchez, David Avila, Joseph Valdivia, and Richard Melton.
Fernando's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.
