Kay Frances Schlothauer, age 76, a resident of Kerman, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Each one of Kay's friends said their good-byes on her final day amongst us. Kay's friends surrounded her with caring thoughts and prayers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and teacher. Kay taught math at Kerman Middle and Kerman High Schools for 25 years.
In retirement, Kay's passion was designing, sewing, knitting and live opera. In recent years, Kay volunteered her time sewing baby nightgowns and caps for the Helping Hands Angel Gown Program. Kay's love for her church moved her to design and create vestments for the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church clergy. Kay also designed traditional and cultural bride and groom attire.
Kay was preceded in death by J. Fred Schlotthauer, her husband, George and Lois Hunter, her parents, Peggy Shell, her sister, and David Hunter, her brother. Kay is survived by Nancy and Jim Stoots, her sister and brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many loyal friends.
