

Sherry Lynn Wild, age 57, of Grawn passed away Thursday, January 8, 2014 at her home with her family by her side. She was born December 14, 1957 in Traverse City to Donald and Millicent (Nickerson) Henschell.
Sherry graduated from Kingsley High School in 1975. She went on to attend Michigan Tech, CMU, and NMC. Sherry married Clay Wild on August 13, 1988 in Farwell, MI.
Sherry’s career spanned many fields. She worked in restaurant management for several businesses in the area. She was a 911 dispatcher and ran an in-house daycare. She was a youth pastor at Grawn UMC, worked with the youth ministry through Camp Jesus at Kingsley UMC, and was a Lay Speaker at area churches, including Grant UMC. She was involved with several Emmaus Walks and served on the Board of Directors. Sherry also worked many fall seasons in the concession stands for Kingsley Pop Warner Football.
In her spare time, Sherry enjoyed horseback riding, reading, music, camping, and spending time with her many family and friends.
Sherry will be greatly missed by her husband Clay, father and stepmother Don and Kathy Henschell, 2 sons: Matthew and Caleb Wild, 2 step children: Nicholas Wild and Amanda (Steve) Geldersma; grandchildren: Logan and Craig Walcutt; 2 siblings: Mark (Sandy) Henschell and Lori (Charles) Kolbusz; 5 step siblings: Marty (Mickey Loew) Spaulding, Molly (Rob) Ellis, Steve Spaulding, Leah (Nate) Capper, and Mimi (Ed Diede) Spaulding, and many nieces and nephews.
Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, Millicent and niece Maris Spaulding.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 at Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley from 2-4 pm and 6-8pm. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2 pm at the Bayview Wesleyan Church in Traverse City.
Memorial contributions in Sherry’s name may be directed to The Rock of Kingsley, Grant United Methodist Youth Summer Camp fund, or Hospice of Northern Michigan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Kingsley.
