
Wayne attended MSU and was a Spartan fan. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and baseball. Wayne was the coach for American Legion baseball teams in Traverse City for several years and was a member of American Legion Post 153 in St. Johns. He was also a bus driver for BATA for a number of years, and he took great pleasure in helping those in need. He liked joking around and was known for his great sense of humor.
Wayne is survived by his two sons, Ryan (Dessa) Cosma-King and Chris (Stacey) King, and his daughter, Stacey (Andrew) Hasse. Also surviving are his grandsons Carter and Maxon King, brother Doug King, sister Dawn Frost, nephew Steven (Jen) King, niece Cheryl (Chad) Miller, nephew Greg Frost, niece Angela (Brian) Hostetler, other grandchildren, and aunts and uncles. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial dinner has been planned for friends and family on Sunday, February 10 from 12pm-3pm, at Boone’s Long Lake Inn, Traverse City, MI.
