

Ms. Betty Calloway, age 88, of Kingsport, and formerly of Erwin, Tennessee, passed away early Saturday morning surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Calloway was born on July 26, 1925, in Unicoi County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Solomon and Juanita Norris Pardue . She was a member of the First Christian Church of Erwin and was retired from Texas Instruments of Johnson City. Ms. Calloway was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother who enjoyed quilting and her flowers. Ms. Calloway was the last of fifteen children in her family. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Betty Ann & Bob Koontz and their children, Ginger (Ben) Wright, Ashley (Terry) Bridgeman. Her son and daughter-in-law, John & Jennifer Calloway and their children, Ronda Straley and Renee Calloway. Her son and daughter-in-law, James & Penny Calloway and their children, James (Angie) Calloway, Katrinka (Eric) Unold, J.J. (Jennifer) Brazee, and Lindsey (John) Sheffield. Sixteen great-grandchildren also survive. The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 12, 2013 from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Clark and Reverend Henry Webb officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Attn: Donor Services 225 N.
