Burnace Ray Bowers Sr., 89, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015, at Life Care Center of Gray. He was born on June 5, 1926 in Wise County, Virginia to the late Hobert McKinley Bowers Sr. and Ida Belle Wells Bowers. In addition to his parents; he is preceded in death by his son, Norman Edward Bowers; daughter, Diana Lynn Sebesta; brothers, Norman Bowers, Alton Bowers and Gerald Bowers; sisters, Arnetta Blevins and Jewel Smith. Mr. Bowers was a welder for the Local 538 in Johnson City, TN and was of the Baptist Faith. Left to cherish his memory; the love of his life, Mary E. Bowers; sons, Burnace Ray Bowers Jr., Samuel Kane Bowers; daughters, Correna Bowers, Mary Kay Williams, Lisa Darlene Harber, Karla Candace Hingle and husband Ken; brothers, Rheabon Bowers, Hobert Bowers Jr.; sisters, Lena Rue Mullins, Glenda Fern Lang, Violet Gail Bledsoe; 14 grandchildren; 23 great- great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Mr. Burnace Ray Bowers Sr. will be on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home.
