Carolyn “June” Hawk Hammond, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in Brookhaven, Mississippi. She was born on September 26, 1943 to the late Vernon and Blanche Hawk. Ms. Hammond was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Buddy Hawk and Bobby Hawk; sisters: Pauline Moody and Gail Christian.
Survivors include her son, Chris Hammond and wife Robin of Brookhaven, Mississippi; daughters: Toni Woods and husband William of Childersburg, Alabama and Buffy Ezell and husband James of Brookhaven, Mississippi; sisters: Betty Barnett, Charlotte Vicars and Katie Hall; seven grandchildren: Kellie McCollum, Drew Hammond, Tate Hammond, Jessie Woods, Becca Hammond, Zachary Ezell and Ashley Ezell; great-grandchildren: Aryanna McCollum, Skye McCollum and Parker Hammond.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow the visitation in Gunning’s Cemetery in Blountville.
