Carolyn Ann “Granny” Wilson, 73, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019. She was born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia to the late Johnny James Wilson and Thelma Bernice Mize Wilson and was a long time resident of Kingsport, Tennessee.
She retired from Holston Valley Hospital. More than just a loving mother, granny, and sister, she was a friend. Carolyn always looked forward to hosting holidays at her home and cooking wonderful food alongside her daughter and granddaughters. Some of her favorite things in life were cozy, rainy days by the window, the mountains she grew up in, and especially her beloved cat Cookie. She was always a light in the room with her funny, silly personality. Loyal and enthusiastic, she never missed a loved one’s special event or neglected to offer support and encouragement. She was special in different ways to everyone she knew and deeply adored by them all.
She is survived by her daughter, Lee Ann Good Salyers; son-in-law, Keith Salyers; granddaughters, Maddi “Rose” Salyers and Kaia Lauren Salyers; brother, John L. Wilson; sister-in-law, Wendy Wilson; niece, Hilary Wilson; nephew, J.K. Wilson; aunt, Clara “Boots” Snodgrass; and former husband and friend, Bill Good.
A private service will be held at a later date.
