

Cecil C. Craft, age 80, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on February 24, 2010. He was born August 20, 1929 in Jenkins, KY to the late Ernest Mitchell and Ruby Ruth Craft and has resided in Kingsport most of his life.
Mr. Craft served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1953 serving in the Korean War. Later he became a member of the American Legion Post #3, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He taught high school, Junior High and Middle School for the Sullivan County and Kingsport Education System for 42 years. He also coached football, track and basketball, and was Assistant Principal of John Sevier. During his 42 years he influenced many students with his teachings. Mr. Craft was a member of National Education Association, Tennessee Education Association and Kingsport Education Association. While being a member of Oakwood Forest Christian Church, he taught adult Sunday school class, was a church representative for Hope Haven and performed hospital and home visits weekly. He was designated Elder Emeritus “Elder for Life” at Oakwood Christian Church. Mr. Craft was a member of Masonic Lodge #688 and belonged to Gamma Theta Epsilon, Geography Council and Kappa Delta Pi fraternities.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Craft, brothers Hershel and Wendell Craft.
He is survived by daughters Teresa and husband Jerry Hamilton and Karen Craft, grandchildren, Mark and Matthew Hamilton and Sarah and husband Daniel Erb, brothers Edsel and wife Barbara Craft of Memphis, Crandall and wife Jodie Craft and Lowell and wife Barbara Craft of Sneedville and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 27, 2010 at East Lawn Funeral Home from 12-2pm. Funeral services will follow at 2pm with Pastors Marlin Jaynes and Larry Munsy officiating. Graveside services will follow in East Lawn Funeral Home. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be men of Oakwood Forest Christian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Oakwood Forest Christian Church, 1713 E Sevier Ave, Kingsport, Tn 37664.
