

Charles Arthur Hensley, 84, of Kingsport, passed away from this life on Tuesday, December 16th at Holston Valley Medical Center with his loving wife by his side. Mr. Hensley was born on February 15,1930 in Preble County, OH and graduated from Eaton High School then moved to the Tri Cities area in 1949. After his service in the United States Army during the Korean War, he was employed as a bookbinder for many years. He retired from Austin Hennon Bindery in Memphis, TN. Mr. Hensley attended Pleasant View Baptist Church and Gardner Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Carmen Clen Hensley and Vivian May (Epperson) Hensley he was preceded in death by his sister, Rosa Lee (Hensley) Green. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Cleo (McMurray) Hensley; brother, Ernest Hensley and his wife, Judy of Peebles, OH; nieces, Lynn Doak of Albuquerque, NM, Robin Katzenbach of Dayton, OH, Dawn Coates of Richmond, IN, and Nicole Durham of Cambridge City, IN; and nephews, Rocky Johnson of Cambridge City, IN and Clinton Green of Richmond, IN. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his brother-in-law, Fred McMurray; nieces, Louise McMurray and Lisa Burchell; and special friends and neighbors, Johnny and Carolyn Arnold, and Mary Ruth Nothnagel. The family would also like to express a special thank you to the VA Group of Nurses and Physicians for their care and kindness. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2014 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with the Reverend Wayne Baker and the Reverend Rex McMurray officiating. A graveside service with Military Honors rendered will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2014 in the Garden of Peace I of East Lawn Memorial Park.
