Denzil “Dennie” “Hollywood” Claude Richards, 67, entered into the arms of Jesus during the evening hours of Monday (January 6, 2020). Denzil was born on September 24, 1952 in Kingsport, TN to the late F.C. & Mary Alice (Thornburg) Richards.
Denzil enjoyed spending his time outdoors, fishing and hunting, and tending to his min pins, game roosters and game hens. He attended Church of God and Kingsport Family Evangelist Worship Center. Denzil loved the Lord and spending time with his family and friends. Denzil was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Denzil was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Hope Richards; daughter-in-law, Rebecca "Becky" Richards; nephews, Daniel Wayne Gill, Jr. and Christopher Timothy Jones; and “furry-friend”, Rosco P Coldtrain.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 23 years, Dema Jane (Gill) Richards; two sons, Damon Richards and Chadwick Allen Presnell & Stacy Brooke; daughter, Tommie Jane Glymp; brother, David Richards & wife Tina; two sisters, Norma Sims & husband Tex and Vivian Stewart; eight grandchildren, Lindsay Hope Richards, Patrick Weber, Stephanie Ketron, Justin Ketron, Allie Glymp, Madison Presnell, Sarah Jackson, and Courtney Jackson; one great grandson, Jordon Ketron; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday (January 12, 2020) from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral home with Pastor James “Jimmy” Hagy officiating.
Committal services will be held on Sunday (January 12, 2020) at 3 p.m. in the Garden of David at East Lawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Damon Richards, Chad Presnell, Tex Sims, Benny Gill, Daniel Gill, and Justin Ketron.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to that staff of Rachel Head with Ballad Home Health, 3rd (Wilcox Hall) and 6th Floor at Holston Valley Medical Center, Dr Baumrucker, and Dr. Shipstone for all the kind and loving care that was given to Denzil in his time of need.
