

Doris was a member of Gravely Baptist Church. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. Doris was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking.
In addition to her parents Doris was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amanda Hurd; grandson, Jonathon Hurd; sisters, Patsy Woodward, Betty Robinson, Bobbie Jean Parsons and Peggy Craft; brothers, Charles Grimes Jr., Jack Grimes, Bill Grimes, Johnny Grimes, Bobby Grimes, Stephen Grimes, Rev. Randy Grimes and Franklin Grimes.
Survivors include her sons, Marty Hurd (Marsha), Eddie Hurd (Tammy), Anthony “Tony” Hurd (Brenda) and Rodney Hurd (Gussie); daughter, Angela Hurd-Swecker (Jay); sister, Nancy Woodward (Johnny); brother, Ricky Grimes; seventeen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special caregiver and granddaughter, Brittany Hensley; along with several nieces and nephews.
The Calton family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Friday, June 24, 2022 in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home from 5 pm - 7pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 25, 2022 in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home beginning at 11 am with Rev. Joshua Grimes officiating. Committal Service and Interment will follow the Funeral in the Garden of Memories in East Lawn Memorial Park. Jay Swecker, Tyler Swecker, Josh Collins, Jason Ketron, Jacob Hurd, Noah Williams, Rodney Hurd and Travis Williams will serve as pallbearers.
