Doris Arline Ferguson

Ms. Ferguson was born October 24, 1935, in Wise County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Mary Ruth Richardson. Ms. Ferguson retired after working several years as a bookkeeper at Alley’s Chrysler (Kingsport, TN). She was a faithful Christian and was a member of Sullivan Baptist Church (Kingsport, TN). She was an active member of the church’s senior citizen group. As hobbies, she enjoyed knitting and working crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Ferguson; and brothers, Kenneth “Yogi” Richardson, Jerry Richardson, and Jim Richardson.

Survivors of Arline Richardson Ferguson include her sister, Rita Kelley; sisters-in-law, Carmen Richardson and Sharron Richardson; nephews, Jeff Richardson and wife Lisa, Anthony Richardson and wife Jamie, Michael Richardson, and Mitchell Richardson and wife Jennifer; great nephews, Tyler, Jackson and Zachary Richardson, and Andrew and Matthew Copas; great nieces, Corri, Casey, Lauren, Paxton, Anniston, and Hannah Richardson; several cousins and friends.

The family of Arline Richardson Ferguson will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Sullivan Baptist Church (4152 Maplewood Drive, Kingsport, TN). A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jeff Strong, will be conducted at 7:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Garden of Devotion at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport, TN. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sullivan Baptist Church Building Fund (4152 Maplewood Drive, Kingsport, TN 37660) or the Pat Summit Foundation (625 Market Street, Suite 1400, Knoxville, TN 37902).
