My mother is Betty Bowen Ramsey.  She is Dorothy's aunt.  They look a lot alike.  When my dad died, Dorothy was there for mother in every way.  She let mother stay with her.  She helped mother buy things.  She helped mother find a life after dad. She was also very kind to me and my family.  What warmth she had! What love! Though they were only sisters-in-law, Dorothy and our mother Edith Grady, were as close as sisters. They were always exchanging the best recipes, because they were both the best cooks! How strange that both Edith and Dorothy died of the same illness only six months apart.  We mourn their loss, vacancies that cannot be filled, but we have the memories of the love they freely shared with everyone they met, and that will never be forgotten. Lionel, Belinda, and Bill, 
We were devastated to hear about Dorothy.  Mom has been with me since August 29th recovering from shoulder replacement surgery and I flew to Tulsa to work yesterday.  I wanted you to know why we won't be there tonight...I'm so sorry that I'm out of town and can't come to see you this evening.  I had just thought about your Mom on Sunday wishing I could make soup beans like hers!  Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures...I cried and cried last night just thinking about the time I spent with your mom when she baby-sat me and Karen.  Belinda, she never let us listen to your Beatles records until you got home from school.  Please know our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Mrs Dorthy Grady will always be remembered by us as our neighbor who was humble, out-going, sensitive to our family's needs, sharing garden goodies, a good friend to my wife and I, wise, and fun to be with. I can still hear her laugh!  Her devotion to her husband and fammily was easily seen, and a good example. She was a special lady, and did a special thing for us that we will always remember.
