Dorothy J. Hawk

Dorothy J. Hawk, age 85 of Kingsport passed away February 8, 2011 at her home after an extended illness.

Dorothy was born December 18, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA., to the late Edward and Janette Jones. She has resided in Kingsport for most of her life. She retired from Kingsport City School System as an attendance teacher. Dorothy was a member of Waverly Road Presbyterian Church, The Order of The Eastern Star Liberty Chapter # 198, The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Women of The Moose.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jack W. Hawk; sister, Elaine Hansell and brother, John Jones.

Surviving are her children; Nancy Randall and husband Jim, Susan Gilliam and husband Alyn. Grandchildren, Katrina and Jonathan Gilliam and Jamie and Joe Randall. Sister, Janet Madison and husband Bob. Several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, February 11, 2011 from 1:30 – 2:30 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel at 2:30 pm with Pastor Dan Clark, officiating, music will be provided by Julie Vogel. Graveside services will follow immediately in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Susan, Alyn, Katrina and Jonathan Gilliam; Nancy, Jim, Jamie and Joe Randall.

The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for all their loving care of their mother during this illness.
