Douglas Wayne Hamm Sr.

Douglas Wayne Hamm, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday (July 12, 2016) after an extended illness. Doug was born June 21, 1946 in St, Paul, VA to the late Albert and Amy (Lawson) Hamm. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Wayne Hamm, Jr. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Shirley Hamm; daughter, Carol Hamm-Spurgeon & husband Todd Duncan; step-son, Bruce Stevens; two grandchildren, Brandilyn Hamm and Travis Spurgeon; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday (July 17, 2016) from noon until 2 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Dr. Stan Anderson officiating. Committal services will be held Sunday (July 17, 2016) at 3:00 p.m. in the Garden of Everlasting Life III at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to SCRTA (c/o Gay Crawford, 3269 Ridgeview Street Kingsport, TN 37664).
