

Douglas was born in Norton, VA to Robert and Anne Mae Shupe on July 4th, 1942. He went to school at Rye Cove High school. He married Annemarie Mayer on March 6, 1963 in Mannheim, Germany. He graduated from University of Maryland, AA, and Coker College, BS. He worked as a Civil Servant for US Army for 18 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Army for 22 years and was awarded many accommodations. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grands. He also enjoyed working on old cars.
Douglas is preceded in death by his parents Earl (Robert) and Anne Mae, and four sisters, Irene Stanley, Inez Brock, Darlene Hall, and Annabelle Barber.
Douglas is survived by Annemarie Shupe his wife of 62 years, his daughter Gabriela Prosser (John), his grandchildren Chad Prosser (Sabrina), Katerina Fagan (Blake), and Casondra Bracken (Drew), and his great grandchildren Karaline F., Ande Lyn P., Kayleigh F., John P., Addy James P., Henry B., and Adler P.

A funeral service will occur Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 6:30 PM, 246 Hilton St, Kingsport, TN. A burial will occur Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Mountain Home, 215 Heroes Dr, Mountain Home, TN.
