Esta Marie Pickwell

Esta Marie Witten Pickwell, age 80 of Kingsport, went into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on the evening of November 16, 2016. Esta was born on June 10, 1936, in Burma, OK to the late Hubert and Tracy Bates Witten. Esta married her best friend and love of her life, Mr. Rodney Pickwell, and together they shared 63 years of a beautiful marriage together.

Esta attended Christian Missionary Alliance Church in McAllen, TX and a charter member in Pasadena, TX. She was an active member for many years at the church of God in Kingsport, TN, as well as Cornerstone Church in Chester, VA. Esta served as president for the Women’s Aglow Chapter in VA and a Women’s counselor at Cornerstone in Chester, VA. She was an accomplished vocalist; singing solos in choirs everywhere she attended and in a women’s trio. She never met a stranger and she ministered to almost everyone, who knew her throughout her lifetime.

She had a glorious reunion with her parents; several sisters and brothers; her daughter, Connie; and grandson Nathan. She is survived by her loving husband, Lowell Rodney Pickwell; sons, Curtis Pickwell and wife Debbie, and Chris Pickwell; daughter, Carol Bedingfield and husband Ed; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 19, 2016, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2016, at 1:00 pm in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Pickwell officiating. Interment services will follow the service with Pastor Jim Heikes officiating. Matthew Pickwell, Christopher Pickwell, Brandon Bedingfield, Mitchell Bedingfield, Joshua Bedingfield, and Andrew Pickwell serving as pallbearers.
