

Georgia Whittemore, age 86, entered into rest January 26, 2012 at Indian Path Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Hawkins County, Tennessee to the late Edward Wisley and Hettie Salyer Wisley Wooten, Georgia was a longtime resident of Sullivan County. Georgia was formerly employed with the Kingsport Press. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Whittemore, brothers, Carlos Wisley; sisters , Faye Murray, Carolyn Dickinson and Virginia Barker. Survivors include two sisters, Rosetta Harvey and husband Don of Mt. Carmel, Viola Calloway of Johnson City; two brothers, J.T. Wooten and wife Frieda of Chicago and Sam Wooten and wife Tyna of California; sister-in-law, Ruedene Wisley of Chicago; special nieces and nephews including Randall Harvey and wife Cindy of Nashville, Elesha Cornett and husband James of Virginia; great niece, Bailey Harvey. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29th, at East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Stout officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation 200 Prosperity Dr. Knoxville, TN. 37923.
