Greathel Faye Long, 92, entered into eternal rest during the late evening hours of Thursday (August 23, 2018) surrounded by her loving family. Faye was born on January 29, 1926 in Scott County, VA to the late Wrightly & Dora (Sanders) Tipton.
Faye enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. Faye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her beloved husband, D B Long; daughter, Francis Dingus; two sons, John and Troy Long; three brothers, Howard, Eugene, and Ray Tipton; three sisters, Sue Owens, Hazel Jennings, and Jewel Tipton; two granddaughters, Lisa Arnold and Amy Long; and great-grandson, Jake Aquino.
Left to cherish her memories are her four daughters, Phyllis France & Husband Lennis, Debbie Winegar, Brenda Winegar, and Candy Haire & husband Mike; son-in-law, Ralph Dingus; daughter-in-law, Janice Long; two brothers, Joe and Paul Tipton; three sisters, Oaklee Ramey, Maggie Hyatt, and Thelma Presnell; seven grandsons, Tracy Dingus & wife Penny, Steve Dingus & wife Becky, Travis Long, Brian Moffit & wife Chelsea, Kelly Winegar & wife Melissa, Marty France, and Eli Haire; four granddaughters, Penny Aquino & husband Jose, Felicia Riegel & husband Chris, Gwen Parker & husband David, and Edy Haire; many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will greet guests and share memories on Monday (August 27, 2018) from 5 to 7 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 7 pm with Bro. Lennis France officiating. Special music will be provided by Nathan Aquino.
Faye will be laid to rest on Tuesday (August 28, 2018) at 11 am in the Garden of Apostles at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
