

Harold “Red” E. Smith, age 79, of Kingsport, entered into rest on Sunday, March 31, 2013 at the Holston Valley Medical Center. Mr. Smith was a native of Sullivan County, and the son of the lateSim and Margaret Goins Smith. He retired as a self-employed truck driver, where he had driven for Metler and Riggs Brothers. Mr. Smith enjoyed gardening and wood working. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Erma Spencer and Ruby Clark and one brother, Dewey Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Smith; daughter, Rosanna Farmer; step-son, Brian Perry, step-daughter, Amy Louthan; grandsons: Ryne Farmer, Aaron Perry and Jacob Perry; granddaughters: Olivia Perry and Nikki Louthan; brother, Virgil Gene Smith, and sisters: Marie Cain and Shirley Cox, along with several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service for Mr. Smith will be conducted on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of East Lawn Funeral Home, with Rev. Eugene Osbourne, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour. Burial will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in East Lawn Memorial Park. Everyone is asked to assemble at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. for the service.
